The British School of Lisbon is seeking to appoint a Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join a dedicated team of professionals and contribute to the smooth running of our school community.
The British School of Lisbon (BSL) was established in 2019 by The Schools Trust, a UK-based governance body responsible for founding 15 prominent British schools worldwide. In 2026, BSL joined Dukes Education, a leading family of high-quality schools and education services. The Schools Trust continues to remain a partner in the school.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment, providing essential front-of-house and administrative support to the school’s daily operations.

Essential requirements:
. Previous experience in reception and/or administrative roles;
. Proficiency in both Portuguese and English (spoken and written);
. Confident using IT tools, including MS Office, email and calendar management;
. Comfortable handling phone calls, mail and in-person enquiries;
. Willingness to support the wider administrative team with varied tasks;
. Valid criminal record certificate (mandatory).
Key responsibilities:
. Welcoming and assisting parents, students, visitors and suppliers in person and over the phone;
. Receiving, logging and distributing mail and packages;
. Supporting the coordination of school events and visits;
. Managing calendars and providing administrative support to the Leadership Team and office staff;
. Coordinating meeting room bookings and preparing rooms for events;
. Liaising with the maintenance and security teams in daily routines.
Terms:
. Working hours: 40 weekly hours, Monday to Friday;
. Workplace: The British School of Lisbon (Cais do Sodré or Restelo campus).
. Expected start date: August 2026
